My son is soon to be Hokie. Perhaps you are not familiar with what the heck a Hokie is? The short answer is its a nickname dating back to the 1890s for a student at Virginia Tech.
It is a bittersweet time for us because I will miss my little helper (that is not so little anymore LOL!) being around. Since he starts in the fall, we decided to take a day and get familiar with the layout of the university campus.
I thought it was cool that they even found bushes that are the correct color for the school logo!
I am happy to report that the campus is beautiful. The buildings bold new and old are made of Hokie Stone which is locally mined from a quarry in Blacksburg where the school is located.
So time keeps marching forward as we begin this new chapter of life. Lots of changes for my son and new adjustments for me as well. Guess the house will be a lot quieter now.
