This is my response to "(WE91) Posting topic prompts: Without..." You can also join the challenge here.

Another week, another thought juggling weekend post by galenkp@galenkp. Thank you, sir. Been a busy week, so I am glad to end the week with this as well.

Topic:

You have a medical condition and must permanently lose the use of either both arms or both legs, but can choose. Which would you choose and why? Explain how the loss would impact you and what you would do to ensure you lived your best version of life after the loss. (I don't mean they are gone completely, just that you have lost the ability to use them, so prosthetic limbs are not an option.)

This is a tough one and I wouldn't want to waste time explaining the importance of the arms and the legs. Let me just give a quick overview of myself, so it would justify why I am sticking to the decision I am going to explain soon.

I am an indoor person. I don't take solace in going out there or being out there. I would rather stay indoors and catch all the fun that I can. I go out on rare occasions and you can be sure it has to be important.

If I am to choose to lose either arms or legs (their functions) I would rather choose to lose the legs rather than the arms. Why? Absolutely... I am a writer... I take delight in writing. If anyone goes through my posts then they would understand that I've been doing this consistently since 2017. A day hasn't gone by that I didn't make a single post on my blogs. The least I make in a day is 2 posts and I've made as much as 5 posts in a day sometimes.

A lot of people wonder how I do it but if you ever live in Nigeria, you don't need extra motivation in making posts. Everything around; humans, government and the lack of basic amenities are enough motivation to give you something to rant about. I am a strategic thinker and I don't need my legs to put my thoughts into writing, I need my hands. I would have spoken and asked someone to write for me? No... Some inspiration comes to me as I write myself. I surprise myself sometimes when I have an idea to write on and they keep rushing as I am writing it. It's something I love doing myself which is why I don't want to lose the functions of my arms.

Ideas on what to write on flow naturally to me and as explained, it's due to my writing that's why I am sticking to my arms over my legs.

Negative Impacts?

Of course, it is always a hard choice because every part has its functions and losing the use of the legs would affect my writing in a way. How? There are days where I pace around as I type on my phone, just like I am doing right now with this post being made on the phone. I love pacing sometimes when I am writing and I can't explain how it works for me but I tend to have tons of ideas running through my head, not only for the post I am typing but for other posts I want to make during the day. So, losing the loss of the legs means I won't be able to pace around and would have to make do with staying on one spot and allowing the inspiration to come from other sources.

Another negative impact would be sex. Oh, yes... You heard that right. I would have to be at the mercy of lying down while... you know... the business gets done... at least I have my hands so it can dance to the rhythm of her movement... You understand right? This is not NSFW content, so I would have to screen that 馃槀馃槀馃ぃ馃ぃ馃ぃ. Surely, sex would be affected in a way as I wouldn't be able to explore with several positions to bring about fun and spontaneity to it.

Taking a stroll with my legs and knowing I have the freedom to move around would be affected too. Yes, I don't like going out and that one is by choice rather than an imposition. Yes, I can still move around but there is nothing like doing it your way by moving around with your legs, taking a stroll and pacing around.

When life gives you lemons, they say? The best I would do is to make the best out of it. There are so many people who actually lost their legs, not even the loss of its functions but actually lost theirs and still made something out of their lives. I would definitely be fully focused on writing books to inspire others to greatness... To make everyone understand that your background or condition doesn't have to put your back on the ground. You can still make a fine tune out of that broken string. I would write books and do more speaking engagements than I've been used to.

Thank you for your time.
