I have started playing some anytime tournaments, and they've been very fun! I enjoy these much more than the regular single-elimination tournaments where you have to play at a certain hour. It never feels good to schedule a time to play, maybe even rent some cards, and be out of it in the first couple of rounds. For me, these have been much more satisfying to play.
After my first report of a novice tournament that I got first place, I bring you another report, this time for a Silver level tournament, Chaos Legion only.

In these tournaments, each person plays X games in a 24 hours period. The top 40% advances to the next phase, which works exactly the same in the next 24 hours period. That means you only need enough time to submit all teams, twice, in two days!
Tournament Report
I decided to try this tournament without renting any cards. I have Kelya Frendul level 4, Tarsa and Obsidian level 3, General Sloan level 2 and Thaddius Brood level 1. Furthermore, I do not have every card on the max possible level for the respective splinter. This means I'll be at a disadvantage in certain rule sets and restrictions, but I wanted to see how I would do using just my own cards.
Uriel, especially at level 2, is perfect for this rule set. Not having it was a major disadvantage. I don't think I could have built a team that could beat this, with what I have.
I had more speed and higher levels, which allowed me to kill Grum before he killed anything. They also had too many monsters that were passive until they reached the front, and my Monk was healing the damage done by the only sneaker.
I was surprised to win this one. They had the level 2 River Hellondale but, not going with Diemonshark was a mistake, in my opinion. Mine got revived and managed to get an extra attack that got trample. That was very clutch!
This time I had the level advantage, as well as the numbers advantage in the Equalizer rule set. However, they had a revive for Diemonshark, which was very good. I still ended up having more staying power, and their healing wasn't able to keep up.
I was able to kill their Time Mage before they killed mine, and they got their ranged monsters on the first row before me. This allowed me to win, even after several unlucky misses.
They had slightly higher levels, which allowed them to attack first, and that was really important. Even without the level difference, their team was probably better. I think Wave Brood worked better than Flying Squid here.
I went with Tarsa because it's my strongest splinter out of the available, but I feel red has better cards with an even cost. It wasn't a very good team and I lost easily. I also forgot to put my fiend, for some reason.
My opponent had higher levels, but it ended up working in my favor because of Reverse Speed. Having Mycelic Slipspawn was the biggest factor to my win, as it meant I got to kill two of his monsters on the first turn, while I only lost 1.
For a game where I wasn't able to use the total mana as well as my opponent and the level differences, it was somewhat close. I was able to take out Uriel before it attacked, but Chaos Dragon is very strong. Their multiple blast attacks really put my team under a lot of pressure and once Grund was dead, it was over.
Exact same team, but they had higher levels. However, it wasn't the levels that decided this game. It was actually "winning" the speed tie on Diemonshark, on the turn that it was out of armor. This put their Diemonshark into Enrage, dealt more damage and allowed their Deeplurker to finish my Shark.
I lacked the big guns Tarsa has like Grum, Forgotten One as well as the Neutral Legionnaire Alvar, so there was no way I could win this. I could maybe get lucky with a bunch of misses because I had more speed, but I didn't get nearly enough to have a shot.
4-7 on the second day for a 13-9 total. I did much worse on the second day, but that is expected when I did so well on the first day and the second day it's more likely to face stronger players. Still pretty good for lacking a lot of leveled up cards and I got 10 SPS for my finish and I had fun!
