I am playing in Gold League and I recently faced someone famous: @Alliestrasza. Sadly, she wasn't streaming, so I can't look at her reasoning. Here's the battle link so you can check it out by yourselves:

Here's the rule sets and restrictions:
No special rules and only Death can't be used. Despite the possibilities, we both went with the Water Splinter.
Despite the same Splinter, all our cards but 2 are different. She quickly killed my Igor Darkspear before he got a chance to attack. However, I was able to stick Affliction on Baakjira, which was very important.
She killed my Uraeus and I killed her Fiend. She was killing my backline very fast but I was working on Baakjira and in this turn, I was able to get the poison.
Her Chaos Agent dodged my attack but my Pelacor Bandit dodged 2 attacks. I killed Baakjira and her Pelacor Bandit was now on the front.
We both lost our Bandits, this turn. This was positive for me because my Doctor Blight was getting a lot of HP.
I killed her Uraeus and now she only had a Deeplurker on the front and a useless Chaos Agent in the back. Both our front monsters were poisoned.
From here, the game was over. She only had Chaos Agent left after Deeplurker was gone and I had 2 attacking monsters.
I dealt the final blow and won the game.
This was a battle with a lot of RNG involved and it could have gone either way. According to https://splintertools.io/ I was a slight favorite to win with around 60%. The MVP was Doctor Blight with the Affliction on Baakjira.
Ever since I moved up to Gold, it seems there's a lot more RNG involved. Doctor Blight shows up much more and he has 2 abilities with 50% to hit. There are several cards with Blind, Poison, and Stun. It's a very different game with much more variance and many more factors to consider. I still feel like I have a lot to learn, while on Silver, I was very comfortable playing.
