Title: Little owl
No one has been living on the property, in the house next to mine for some time. Every year, the building loses more and more structural integrity. A few years back, a strong storm wind partially destroyed the roof's tiles, leaving a hole through which little owls moved in.
It is known for its loud and unpleasant sounding, which is most often heard at dusk and dawn. Anyone who is not used to this kind of sound will certainly not fall asleep easily.
Because it eats mice, it is very helpful, particularly in rural areas. It consumes mice as well as a variety of large insects, moths, and small rodents. It is a protected species and a resident bird that is present all year long.
I see it every day, and it is most busy in March and April. It can be seen most frequently placed on roofs, chimneys, and nearby trees, where it can watch its surroundings and stalk prey. It doesn't like being a picture model, so as soon as it sees me getting too close, it quickly flies to another location.
It is one of my favorite birds since I have had no problems with mice since it was my neighbor.
