The death and burial of Jesus Christ was to give way to his resurrection and ascension. When He died, all believers died with Him, when He was buried, all believers were buried with Him and when He resurrected all believers resurrected with Him. “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4)
