Stick Around?

Yes, around Steem based platforms, of course. By that I mean, the games, the writing, the contests, and last but not the least, the tribes.

It was quite an entertaining last year, though the price of Steem did not get us as excited as we would have liked. The tribes were a delightful new addition to the Steem ecosystem, as you could easily find like-minded writers and readers in each. For example, I am enjoying myself writing about Formula 1 as I can post it under www.sportstalksocial.com or about general writing and invoke the @marlians, @palnet and other tribes. It is quite an exciting journey.

And I haven’t even started talking about the SMTs.

All in all, it had been a pleasant experience.

Tell me More About the Experience

Okay, the route that I took to be successful here is the contest route. That means, instead of looking for upvotes to earn, I participated in the contests of my liking. That way, I wrote about the things I liked and made some Steem too. It worked well for me. The other advantage of participating in contests was the readership that we so yearned for as a newbie. So, we find followers as much as like-minded readers.

There were some cool contests which slowed down or shut down through the year, possibly, because of the Steem price. But that allowed me to find some new contests and hosts who were unique yet entertaining. Talking about competitions, I cannot conclude without speaking about @bananafish, which was one contest that I enjoyed consistently all through the year, and in that, @f3nix, the host, became a good friend. Of course, then there was @felt.buzz and his micro-contest which kept you on your toes to finish a story in 240 characters or less. How cool is that? It is these contest hosts who keep the Steem pot boiling (yeah, I stole it from you @bananafish) all through the year!

I haven’t named everyone and neither can I humanly do, because if I try, I may end up missing some important friends on Steem. Oh, what the heck, let’s give it a go!

So, apart from the ones already mentioned, thanks @tygertyger, @sayee, @indiaunited and its members, @crypto.piotr, @jadams2k18, @steemslotgames, and all my African friends who used to participate in the @cateredcontent contests and my dear contest hosts. Thank you!

If I have missed any by name, you know that I remember you from the experience that I have had around here. So, thanks to you, too!

So, What Next?

Well, this is not bye but just a reminder that it was not necessarily a bad year last year. After all, I made so many friends. Looking forward, we will work towards a better and flourishing Steem this year and hope to see all my friends around.

Steem is the only platform where I was certain that I wouldn’t invest even a cent, and all my earnings would come from the platform itself. All that you see in my wallet is something I earned from the platform. So, I grew from 450 SP by December 2018 to 2075 SP by December 2019. Seems slow but not bad considering I grew about 4.5 times this year, and that too without investing any money. In fact, it was quite painful to see Steem at such low levels and not buying it.

So, here’s my resolution for 2020, I will invest as much as earn from the Steem platform. Something tells me that it would be a good year for Steem. I don’t intend to be a guy predicting the Steem price and getting it wrong like everyone else on the platform. 😊.
