Celta Vigo to play away on
Saturday before the international break– just a little news-casting of what lies immediately ahead of Barcelona.
Sequel to my post– @ogeewitty/the-koeman-sack-that-beckons-xavi– it is now more or less a reality. Xavi had voiced out days back that he wants to go "home"– meaning he wanted to coach Barça,the club he played for with aplomb(he played there between 1997 and 2015,where he won 25 trophies, which includes eight Liga titles and four Champions League titles. He thus made 767 appearances for Barça (only Lionel Messi beats that) and he also contributed 85 goals and 185 assists). He duly informed Al-Sadd of his desire to "go home" and left it to them. So by Friday, Nov 5th,his former emoloyers released an official statement announcing his release from the club because Barça had paid the release clause for Xavi as his contract stipulated. They wished well and pointed out that they see him as part of their history.
This is where things looked great for Xavi, eventhough it was so emotional for him saying goodbye to the Al-Sadd dressing room– infact he teared up.
As I write this, the paper works are all that remain- you can call that a mere formality now. Barcelona President Joan Laporta who often communicates with Xavi after Barça matches is excited about this and has already announced that "Xavi will be our manager".
Barça faithfuls seem content with a true Blaugarian and legend coming back having rejected Barça's offer previously reportedly due to how the club was run, today we can say he has added more experience and he now has a President who he is comfortable with.
All the best Xavi.
