I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's Featured Post. Some of us don't even know that our lifestyle inspires people; our every action either breaks someone's spirit or lifts it up. Some time back, I was advised to always live my life like somebody is watching me. Don't do anything because you feel there is no one seeing you. Both in private and in public, you should possess the same character. We think nobody is seeing us and nobody is watching us, but the truth is that people are actually seeing you, but you will only get to know that when they compliment you or complain about you.
Everything we do has a way of affecting not just us but the people around us. If we act right or do good, it has a positive impact both on us and those around us, and if we do bad or evil, it has a negative impact on not just us but also those around us. Our every action is like a virus; it does not just affect us but also those around us. If you watch content on social media these days and those creators who go around doing good and putting smiles on the faces of people, you get to notice that it is not just the recipient of the good being done that is smiling, but also those around, neighbors and friends. The same thing happens when they shoot content that disgusts the audience; you see that those around have a look on their faces.
One single action can bring about a continuous chain of that same action repeating itself over and over again. Sometimes, you don't even know that your one action has given birth to so many others. There are things you do like it is nothing and then go about your life, but then it leaves an impact without you knowing. It inspires some people to want to do that same thing because how you doing that thing made them feel is a feeling they think others should get as well. There are actions of kindness, love, giving and helping we offer just because it is something we enjoy doing, but then those actions cause others who find doing so difficult to want to do the same.
I have shared a story about how a stranger helped me back in 2023 while I was travelling and was stranded and could not get cash due to the cashless policy back then. The driver said all he wanted was cash or nothing and was going to drop my things if I didn't get him cash when a stranger offered to pay and did not want me to pay him back despite how difficult it was to get cash during that time. How he came through for me without knowing me, and did it without even wanting to be paid back, left a mark. You know that moment you are tired, frustrated and already at your breaking point, and then someone comes through for you, not just someone, a stranger I do not know and he does not know me as well.
I don't think I have the right words to describe how I was already feeling, begging the driver to accept transfer but he insisted he needs cash only even when he knew it was difficult to get any cash. I walked around looking for any POS outlet that had cash but none had any cash to give even if they did have cash they would be selling it very expensive but I was willing to pay just so I can get home, the driver and the lack of cash was already frustrating me at the park.
That single action has also led me into offering and being more helpful than I was before that encounter. That encounter made me understand what it feels like to be brought back to life. A single good deed or help offered to an individual can help bring them back to life, it can restore hope, stop them from slipping into depression. Now, I am always there for anyone my path crosses with in the best way that I can. If I can be there financially, emotionally, physically or in any way that I can, I just make myself available to lean on, the same way a stranger made himself available for me to lean on.
