January, the first,
Unfolds the year.
February so much like early January,
School runs in hustle and bustle.
March has farmers
Leaving their homes early.
April comes and rain showers
Grace our mornings through May.
June signifies half of the year
When we asses our wins and losses.
July is the raining cold time
For enjoying our corn and pears!
Our vacations come alive in August
When we take to various cities and choice places.
The school year begins a new in September
With the need to adjust.
On October 1st, we March like soldiers
And salute our Independence flag!
Yuletide flowers bloom in November.
And then, December asks, "Is Christ also born in you?"
Commentary
This poem talks about the various months of the year and what people do in these months. If mirrors the events which take place in these months as follows :
January : the coming of the New Year.
February : Just like January when so many people are concerned about how their children will go back to school.
March: When farmers leave their homes very early in order to plant their various crops.
April: The rains begin to water the crops.
May: The rains continue.
June: People weigh their gains or losses.
July: Cold weather when pears and corn are eaten.
August: A period of vacation when people travel for holidays.
September : A new school year begins when pupils are promoted to new classes.
October 1st: students and other voluntary organizations go to the stadium to March in commemoration of our Independence.
November : Christmas preparations begin in earnest.
December : The festive period when we celebrate the birth of Christ.
The poem ends with an important question which emphasis the importance of accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.
