In a small village, two friends named Chinedu and Musa helped their parents on their farms during the dry season. One Saturday morning, the weather was bright and sunny. Their parents told them to harvest the ripe maize before the rains started.
Chinedu began working immediately. He harvested the maize, dried it well, and stored it safely. Musa, however, decided to spend the day playing football with his friends. He believed there would still be enough time to harvest later.
The next day, dark clouds filled the sky, and heavy rain fell for several hours. Much of Musa's maize became wet and spoiled before he could gather it. Chinedu's maize was already safe because he had finished his work on time.
Musa felt sorry for delaying his work. He learned that opportunities do not last forever. From that day on, he always completed important tasks without unnecessary delay.
Moral Lesson: "Make hay while the sun shines" means we should make good use of our time and opportunities before they are gone.
