Anyway, here's one of the kind of photos I make when walking around in my home town:

It isn't a new trend, of course; just like with fishing for "sport" in any other location, it is mostly a hobby taken up by married men who want an excuse to get out of the house and sit somewhere quiet without doing anything much in particular.
The men in the photo weren't catching anything; a young lad that showed up later pulled out a fish every three minutes, which greatly supports my theory; he was still there for the fishing.
