Utopia (n)- an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect.

I won't write about some far away land where every little thing is perfect , because personally I don't think anything is perfect.
Let me tell you a story about my kind of utopia. :)

I'm laying down in my bed in fetus pose with my eyes closed. I hear odd sounds. Small drops of rain.
I turned around, and now I'm laying on my back. I see those drops running wild on that glass ceiling.
Huge grey clouds are changing shapes and you can't really see where is the beginning or ending.
I'm wearing long dark red satin dress. I sit on the bed and I realise there's neither door nor window.
I'm trapped in a room with only strong glass ceiling.
The walls are white as snow. And there is an antique vase full of wildflowers next to the bed with soft white sheets.
Suddenly, I see a book in the corner of the room. I walk slowly on black floor with my naked feet.
While I was holding the book, I already knew what was inside.
I throw away the book to another corner . When the book fell down wide open, the crimson blood started to flow.
I got closer. And I saw a date written with that blood which was flowing right down to one big dark hole.
I was curious. I had some strange feeling and I knew I should go to that hole.. It cannot be bad, the book was my diary..It must be something important in the hole.
So, I jumped like Alice did when she went to the Wonderland.
All of the sudden, there were billion of stars around me, like I was floating in the universe.I admired the beauty of the stars, they were smiling at me. I even touched the Moon. I can't describe that magical feeling with words.
Next thing I remember is that the universe became ocean. I could breath under water. There were thousands of different species living under and I was enchanted. If mermaids do exist I bet that is the feeling. It felt so natural to be there and live under.
Unfortunately, the moment didn't last long.
Out of nowhere, I was on the water. Laying uncovered like it is the most comfortable bed.
In the center of clear silver lake, in the thick forest. I had no strenght to pull myself out.
I heard wolf howling somewhere in the distance. It was night of a full Moon and that big bright Moon had lighten my already pale body.
I felt unusual. I waited for something. Someone to save me.
I could feel I'm going out of breath. Like I was drowning in oxygen. Contradiction, but oxygen was so heavy at that moment.
I knew someone was near. Slowly coming.
A man. Handsome tall man.
He stepped into water all dressed. Later I saw he was wearing all black.
He took me in his big strong arms and carried me to the lakeside. I felt safe.
Person who came was a stranger. But somehow familiar stranger. I was not afraid of all that darkness that I could feel in his appearance.
I could feel his soft skin and beard upon my hands as I touched his face but I couldn't see him.
It was like the Moon could reveal all of him but not his face. I had a thought that secrets that he was hiding were darker than the dark side of the Moon.
I remember how that man made me feel, like I was finally at the place where I truly belong.
Now, you'll probably think.. How can this story be connected with utopia?
Well, utopia for me represents neither only trying new things and just exploring, nor something perfect because beauty is in imperfections, but at the end the only things that matter are feelings that you have at the end of the day and pair of arms you'll always want to come back.
In my opinion, those arms should always be yours. First learn to run back to yourself. And if you're lucky enough to find and have arms comfortable as your own, keep them and enjoy every little moment spending with them. :)

This is original story written for 'Tell me a story' contest hosted by calluna@calluna inspired by one of my dreams I had few years ago.

Hope you'll enjoy it :)
