A Mythic "speed run" featuring two decks and their 9.25hr race to the top.

One-day new account F2P Tutorial to mythic challege and pilots guide!

FakeMews with an off for holiday decided to challenge himself by making Axel the Cat a GU account! Axel watched the tutorial with me then said "you got it from here" and abandoned me. Approximately 9 hours and 15 minutes from tutorial we were able to make it to mythic. The above video is the complete 9 hour 15 minute speedrun. This article is going to highlight the two decks that I feel were most significant in the sucess of the run (though other lists also played a role).

Gods Unchained Top Weekend Ranked Nature Decks Analysis

Aggro/Midrange Nature managed to take 3 spots in the top 10 scoring 24/25 wins each amidst a sea of Control War and Board Wipe Death. Nature is a budget choice that can compete at the top mythic level on the weekend ranked. Nature has well-statted creatures and big removal albeit they are random. It plans to overwhelm the opponent with big creatures and big spells. You can check out my previous top players nature deck analysis post to see what top players run and compare to what performed well this weekend.

Trying Free to Play Ramp Magic Deck

Hello everyone, So recently I started playing different gods every once in a while either for the sake of trying the playstyles I previously mentioned or just to explore and have fun with different deck each time. And I can say that really playing all gods from time to time gives a new taste to the game and make it much more enjoyable. Especially when all your nature confused creatures been missing at a certain point. You can just take a break and try other gods!

An overview of top meta decks from Weekend Ranked.

Weekend Ranked Meta Report (Jan 21 - Jan 23, 2022)

Hello GU Community! The control War archetype continues its dominance with another perfect run of 25/25; this is the third weekend in a row of perfect 25-0 War runs for the archetype from different players. Control Death (board wipe) managed two spots in the top 10 and remains the other S-Tier deck. Nature also managed spots in the top 10 with both the usual aggro version and a new Control variant. Magic, Deception and Light did not manage to take a spot in the top 20. Enjoy!

Gods unchained | Beginner strategy guide: Zoo

Let me start by saying that I'm not a very experience gods unchained player. However, I have learned quite a bit as a beginner and my insights might be helpful to other beginners. That said, this guide is only meant for beginners.

Useful commentary on each pull from opening multiple packs.

Pack Opening and My Opinion about each card!

Gods Unchained contains 1083 overall cards at the moment differing between all gods and neutral. This goes to show how much a player can lack knowledge of cards because of the wide variety, and how many different decks, combos and plays are possible which makes the game more interesting! Among those 1083 cards, there are 194 cards from the divine order expansion. And even among those I saw how much I lack knowledge of cards and keep discovering new ones so I thought it would be a good idea to share my packs with you and give my thoughts about the cards!

[Gods Unchained] The Newbie Saga Part 4.

First of all, before showing our creatures, let's go to the concept of our Deck! This deck has a great variation in its mana cost, but here we will always focus on the higher cost creatures. The lower-cost creatures (1,2) and medium-cost creatures (3,4) serve basically to hold the game for the late game and help us survive. When we gain time with our pawns, we can already see the big picture, reaching the creatures of cost 5 the game is very complicated for our opponents, let's take a look.

A thorough breakdown of a top player's Aggro Magic deck that went 23/25 in Weekend Ranked.

Flux Wheel Pilots Guide series part 5 of 6 Aggro Magic!

We are going to delve into each of FakeMews 6 lists used during the flux wheel challenge into detail and discuss proper ways to pilot each deck and the reasoning behind certain decisions. Please note that minor revisions were made from the 22-win and the 23-win weekend this week for the purposes of this article the deck lists being discussed will be for the 23 win weekend. This will be a 6 part series as I realized how time consuming it is.

Digging into the math behind the cards to determine how much you're paying for each card's keyword(s).

alt

The Cost of Card Text: Keywords

As a follow-up to my previous post regarding the base statlines a vanilla creature has, let's discuss how much stats card text theoretically costs. Card text refers to anything in the body section of a card, including keywords like Blitz and Confused, as well as any effects like healing. Naturally, cards with beneficial card text like Blitz or "Heal a friendly creature for 2" will have worse stats as compared to the vanilla creature, while cards with detrimental effects like "Afterlife: Your opponent summons a random creature from their void" will have better stats than the vanilla creature. The reason is simple - you would simply pick the vanilla creature otherwise. So what do these keywords actually cost?
