Richard came to work the next day being Saturday to work extra hours in order to make a structural design that had been contracted to him weeks ago.
But in the process of working, he lost insight and decided to just go home. on his way out of his office, he just decided to peep into his assistant’s office in a bit to find faults to scold about. He saw the office in total disarray and his rage started to build, nobody to pour it on so he decided to fix it himself.
He started picking and arranging papers from the floor, then he saw a rough design sketch which Abigail had made. He was astonished on seeing this design which beat his imagination. On seeing it, he quickly took a picture of it with his phone and left everything the way they were initially and walked out back into his office. With the design in his phone, and started working on it, it took him till Sunday to complete and send the blue print to his clients who fell completely in love with the structural plan.
“This is what I couldn’t figure out” he thought to himself feeling a little stupid yet satisfied with it.
Things changed with this perfect boss in that instant.
He thought of retaining the intern but immediately snapped out of that thought
“But nobody has ever made me feel this way” he kept thinking
“What is it? He asked himself, I’m sure I would have figured it out myself” he said trying to make himself feel good.
This structural design was worth over N9m and all he needed to do was prove he is capable of executing the project and earn an additional N56m
He needs the original idealist to pull this job and earn the biggest cheque of his career; he is now in a fix between his pride and his career.
All this happened between Saturday and Sunday. Everyone on Monday will have to celebrate this win, but who takes the credit?
