Well, it finally happened. I hit my 10k HP milestone!
This is a goal I've been working on for a while now (basically ever since I hit 5k back in April 2021).
2021:
It's been a long, but fun, journey over the last two years to reach this point. Life has kept me on my toes and my growing children, homeownership, and increased work responsibilities as I moved from purely Quality Assurance to Developer have occupied a lot of my time. I also burnt myself out for nearly 6 months and barely posted anything... and then when I did return full-steam, I began focusing on putting as much HBD into savings as I could, aiming for a goal of 1k HBD - a goal I've since smashed.
So, on both fronts, my goals have been going well. I could have hit 10k a lot earlier if I'd kept up the process of just always powering up everything... but in the end I suspect that having a solid foundation of HBD is going to serve me well, so I don't mind that it took me nearly 6 months longer than I'd expected to pull this off.
2023:
So, what's next?
Well, for the immediate future, I'm going to work at using reward.app to get a bit of a savings of liquid HIVE. It's great to have a solid foundation of HP, but when we hit all time highs again... I'd like to use whatever liquid HIVE I have then to double/triple/etc my HBD stores. So, for now, I'll be getting everything in liquid form and relying on my relatively good curation rewards to keep my account growth going.
Being as I post fairly infrequently and generally only about things I am actually passionate about, my author rewards are a lot lower than they could be... but I'm still growing at about 200HP per month, and I'm hoping to keep that trajectory going as we move throughout the rest of this year.
I have an app/extension/fun thing I'd like to build for HIVE that I think would be a lot of fun, but we'll see if I manage to get enough time before the end of the year to see that move from being a fun concept in my head to one that I actually work on and put out there.
I'm hoping to end this year with 12k HP, at least 2k HBD, and at least 1k HIVE, but we'll see how that all ends up going. My goals are a fun add-on to my primary focus which is just creating content I enjoy for HIVE.
