How does it feel? Was it a painful hit or you took it like a pinch of salt? Yes I mean what hits you.
Just like Newton’s third law of motion clearly states, ‘action and reaction are equal and opposite.’
This is generally true in life. The title above should not just make you think of ‘games of throne’, but should be a pivotal part of your daily life.
You will get what you give. It is that simple. You cannot run away from the consequences of your actions. Your actions and decisions will determine your future. You cannot fail to plant a seed now and expect to reap fruits during harvest. No it doesn’t work like that. The holy book puts it as:
There is time for everything, a time to plant and a time to reap…
You cannot not be hardly working and expect the future to be better. You cannot keep praying and hoping without taking steps and expect things to turn for the better. It just does work like that.
No food for a lazy man
I used to have an uncle (May his soul rest in peace). He would come to my house to spend weeks, and all he does all through is to pray, yes I mean pray! He would pray from morning till evening at a single point while my mother would attend to his feeding. I am not saying here that it is wrong to pray. Even as a young boy I could not but wonder what was going on, and why my uncle was not going to work. My dad who provides for the family is always going. My mother told me my uncle has no job and nothing doing. Then I asked my dad why he didn’t get my uncle a job, he said he has offered him many but he turned it down, with various excuses like: the job is too difficult, it is not befitting, the pay is low, the working hour is much etc. he couldn't afford to feed himself let alone to raise a family of his own. He was already in his early forties at that time. whenever my mom is not around, he would starve until she gets back.
It is the height of laziness. Nobody is responsible for what came to you. It is entirely your responsibilities.
What goes around, comes back around
Again, how can you cheat others and expect not to be cheated? How can you be mean to others and expect to be loved? How can you refuse to give and expect to receive? The world works in a circle, a connection of little dots here and there. Whatever energy you give is what you get in return, whether from the same source you give it or from a different source.
In 2013, I wanted to do the business of buying and selling mobile phones. I knew a friend who knows much about it so I partnered with him. We sold the first phone and made some money. The money got to his hand and for days he refused to give me my share and didn’t pick up whenever I called. I decided after some time to let it go. He saw me a month later and he apologized but didn’t give me my share. That was the end of the business.
Some years down the line, precisely in 2016, he wanted to start a clothing business and was indeed short of capital. He approached me for a loan. I then reminded him of what happened some years back and how giving him a loan was never going to be possible. I told him I would give him whatever I can to support him but to give him money I wouldn’t be able to afford myself would not be possible. He went home sad but he obviously didn’t know a day like that will come.
I know you are thinking, what happened to forgiveness right? Yes I have forgiven him. But if I would have to borrow him the money he asked for, I would have to borrow it myself. A risk I was not prepared to take. I learnt a long time ago. It is impossible to say “I love you” without saying “I” first. You have to love I before you can love anyone else. Self-love!!! You cannot love someone better than you love yourself.
If you are faithful with little, then you can be entrusted with much. Do not allow what you stand to gain today be a big clog in your future. You will get what is coming to you. A nation gets the leader she deserves!
