Sometimes you don't know exactly what you want to end up with, and you make decisions along the way. For today's fractal, the beginning was very simple: it started as a random fractal, made up by the application's randomization engine; this is the magic button:

Initially, it seemed very mundane:

As I was looking to the waves (made by a variation appropriately named "waves2b") I started to think of ways to make it better. I tried a couple of changes, until I found a nice variation to add, "spherical3d." At that point I was trying to make the fractal 3D, as it usually seems more impressive that way:

So, I was going for something totally abstract, waves and shapes transitioning between each other with impressive colors. After a while of failing to get something interested, I decided to try my favorite variation "julia," which most of the time creates a circular pattern like a mandala. When there are several variations in the fractal though, you can't tell what the result of adding another one will be. Anyway, that was what appeared in my screen:

YES! Now I can see a flower! I can see spikes of plants below it! All I had to do was to use appropriate colors and tweak the shapes a bit more; I left aside my vision of a 3d fractal. There appeared some green spikes of grass and the colorful blooming flower with dandelions flying about:
