When i look at the world today, i can't help it but have a deep thought when I'm alone about the purpose of disease and infirmity. The what if's that goes through my mind knows no bound as it totally disrupts any perception of the physical world in front of me, and i sink deep into my thoughts. Its like going down a very dark abyss.

When you look at it from a different perspective, diseases and infirmity actually brings about order and it restricts us from doing a lot of things. A whole lot. The guy knows he will catch a cold, so, he protects himself with sweater and other valid accessories.

The existence of disease has made us to be very careful in how we live, what we eat or drink, and also, how we socialize with other people. Its quite interesting. I'm just here thinking, how would the world be if there is no disease and illness.

The first day i saw cancer, I was amazed at how the affected tissue looked like. The patient has bladder cancer. What did i do next? I became very alert of the causes of bladder cancer, and, with the fear in my heart, i started taking preventive measures against it. The fact here is that, every body will get sick some day. its inevitable.

What if the cure for cancer is rooted deep in my genes? and scientist have to study my genes, so, they will have to put me through many experiments that would be really painful and take most of the years i have to spend on earth. Would I willingly submit myself to scientific research?

My honest answer to this is, Hell no. I'm not going to spend all my life being a lab rat. Let me sound selfish, but i would not hypocritically tell you that i would submit myself for experiments when I have ambitions, and many diverse things to achieve in life.

If they want blood and other bodily fluids for study and experiment, i am willing to give them, but if the experiment will affect my health status in any way, i will not sign up for it.

True, I am a nurse, and i am called to serve humanity, but, I would not want to be a hero and leave my family in the hands of unknown people just because i want to be a hero.

In the world I know, if my genes are used for the purpose of creating a cure, there will be one company out there that will want to monopolize everything, and make it difficult for the poor to have access to the cure due to its high price.

People will start looking for opportunities to sale the cure and make a fortune out of it.

This is not actually the major reason why i would not want to be a lab rat for these scientist. I just cant spend all my life in a lab, being painfully tested, and experimented on, when i know that i can be doing something better.

Lets look for another means to get the cure, not restricting my movement to just a lab.
