Well, the 2020/2021 EPL season is finally over and what a weird season it has been. Liverpool looked to be cruising to another title around Christmas and then it all fell apart for them. In the end, they finished third which is an achievement in itself.
Leicester once again find themselves missing out on Champion's League football by the narrowest of margins. 72 minutes into the game and they looked on course for fourth place. Then super-sub Bale came in and changed the course of the game.
Those 18 minutes could cost Leicester upwards of 30 million pounds because of not having Champion's League. Leicester don't have the squad to challenge on multiple fronts and maybe it is for the best.
Chelsea on the other hand were extremely lucky. Losing to Aston Villa, they had to rely on their fellow Londoners, Tottenham, to do them a favor and beat Leicester, which they did.
I guess that's why they say, it is better to be lucky than to be good. And Tuchel seems to have luck smiling on his side.
