I agree there is way too much parenting advice around. But changing how you say things isn't about the children being too delicate. It's actually about psychology. Some say that the brain doesn't process negative words like "don't". So if you say "don't run" usually the brain hears "run". I've been to some seminars where this is demonstrated and it is striking how it works.
Still, children are resilient and will eventually learn what the parent means no matter how they say it. Thanks for sharing!
