So I'm a Portuguese creative copywriter and I've always had the dream of working and living in New York. But to do so I needed a visa and those are very hard to get. You need to prove to the US government that you are an "asset to the country" and that means having award winning work (in my field of advertising) and other stuff. So I had to leave Portugal and try to find work in other markets with more projection than Portugal, so that I could maybe, one day, have a good enough portfolio to go to NY.
It has now been 6 years since I left Portugal and I'm happy to say that I'm living and working in NY.
I wanted to share with you guys a video that I made when I first moved to London, looking for work. In hindsight, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for this video and for my lovely wife (then girlfriend). This post is in celebration of that :) hope you guys enjoy it.
