Today I bought a few cards, all of them Beta, I thought I would take you through the reasons I bought them.
You might be asking why Frost Giant, its slow, and vulnerable to magic attack. the real reason is I wanted a legendary Beta and this was one of the cheapest. Also, sometimes you need to think about having a mix of cards that can benefit in different rulesets, and this one is definitely useful in slow rulesets, and also up close and personal.
I actually think this card is pretty good for 7 Mana, its hard having such a strong tank for 7 Mana.
I bought this one, because I had a sneak peak of the chaos legion packs and noticed all the summoners are now 4 mana. Whilst they are more powerful, the additional mana will make them quite vulnerable to low mana summoners like this one. Imagine playing a 12 mana match, with this card you can use 10 mana, with the chaos legion summoner you can only play 8 mana for monsters.
I also find that its good to have 2 mana summoners when the silenced summoners ruleset shows up, that extra mana advantage can be the difference. I bought a level 2 summoner too as I often play level 2 summoners in bronze and silver leagues.
I actually bought this one because I was looking at rental yields and I was planning on renting it out. this one was renting for about 40% p.a.
It has since dropped in rental yield, but nevertheless it is an excellent card that can be used in the small monsters russet, and 2 magic is a real bonus.
So I have been focusing on beta cards, because once chaos legion comes out, the Beta cards will no longer be starters and I think that will mean that will give the owners of them a good advantage in the wild format. this will hopefully lead to some price appreciation in the card values.
The second point is that I heard that Beta cards may start receiving a DEC reward like alpha cards do. This will help improve my DEC returns on matches which adds up over time.
