Last night, I was playing splinterlands, like I do almost every day, and I have two pretty strong strategies.

Water Strategy

Using water, with Bortus as summoner and Torhillo the frozen, and this strategy is pretty formidable against magic, and when I see a magic attack strategy, a am pretty much guaranteed a win, even if the cards are stronger. like this match below.. luck was on my side.

Fire Strategy

Sometimes I also use Fire with Malric inferno, with a strong melee focus. This is very effective in most matches, except against magic. I was lucky on this match, and was saved by the poison, and having a healer with poison is quite effective.

Magic lottery

Although this match doesn't demonstrate it, I have had others where I had the stronger deck, but lost to magic.

This got me thinking, is splinterlands a magic lottery? not really, but if you played a really strong magic attack or a strong magic defense, perhaps you can beat decks that are stronger than yours, but you leave yourself exposed to a 50/50 chance of winning.
