Well TBH, if the "galactic club" functions in a similar way as the US government, the EU, or any other large human bureaucracy, I'm not sure we'd want to join anyway. Trying to get s*** done and live a free life is hard enough when the bureaucracies making life difficult DON'T have things like advanced AI, super-science weaponry, and faster-than-light travel. 😏
