Yeah, the rabid anti-mask crowd makes the same mistake as the extremists on the other side... assigning arbitrary symbolism to inanimate objects (just in the reverse). It's not inherently a symbol of oppression any more than it is some magic talisman that stops Covid-19 in its tracks. I'll use and judge the item by its own merits and, to paraphrase the late great George Carlin, leave the unthinking symbolism to the "symbol minded". 😏

As to weirdness, I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict 2021 will be weirder and wilder than 2020. Buckle up for a helluva ride!!!
