STORYLINE

The Miami Police CSI Laboratory faces every investigation from the forensic crime scene study, adjusting the use of scientific methods to police work. Made up of a highly trained, competent and qualified team led by Lieutenant Horatio Caine, (David Caruso) known as "H" or "with H of Honesty", next to him has:

Calleigh Duquesne, a ballistics expert,
Eric Delko, expert researcher in fibre analysis,
Ryan Wolfe, DNA and scanning specialist, highly skilled in AV work
Natalia Boa Vista, DNA Analyst
Walter Simmons, art theft expert
Frank Tripp, police homicide detective.

Perhaps many of you may have seen this show or few young people have, but of this series I will only talk about lead actor Horatio Caine, CSI Level 3, Supervisor of the Day Shift, which is played by David Caruso.

Lieutenant Horatio Caine is a homicide detective in charge of the Miami Dade Crime Lab. This man is characterized by being a great leader in protecting his team work, his attitude is magnificent, projects a great impetus, reflects a confidence, honesty, which is why his friends refer to him as "H", the abbreviated form of "with H of H of Honesty. He is an explosives expert, an exceptionally skillful and precise marksman, without hesitation he exercises that power if necessary. He is an advocate of the death penalty for crimes that are inhumane, and relentlessly puts pressure on suspects who have committed these crimes.

A SUPERHERO DRESSED AS A POLICEMAN

Horatio his way of standing with hands at the waist with attitude of haughtiness, with his jacket back, showing his gun and his badge, makes us visualize a super hero in the style of superman, he can't fly, but it is the dream of any society to have a hero dressed police hero who doesn't need to have a cape, but with his skills, abilities, qualities and faculties can exercise the law with honesty and fight crime as well.

When confronting the suspects, his manner of speaking is straightforward, with few words and great firmness, he lets them know that they won't get away with it and that if they are guilty they will have to pay, he and his team will prove it with evidence and they will have to face the law. Offenders have been found to offend him and try to provoke him, but he remains calm at all times, and with his gaze fixed on them he is sure of what he does and that he trusts his team of criminalists and that they do what they do, he will see to it that they pay for everything they have done. Once he manages to prove that they are guilty, he lets them know that he does what he says, he is a man of his word.

HORATIO CAINE AND THE CHILDREN

Horatio has a very special quality for communicating with children who have had a traumatic experience. The way of kneeling and putting oneself at the same height as the children demonstrates this quality, something that parents do not do, this is so significant that even educators, therapists, psychologists recommend it, because when you put yourself at the height and look them in the eye, the child at that moment perceives that it is something important that they are going to tell you and that you should pay attention to the message, this is called active listening.

"Active listening is a good way to improve your communication with your child. It lets your child know you are interested in what she has to say and want to hear more. When you are actively listening, you give your full attention to your child. You make eye contact, stop other things you are doing, and get down on your child’s level. You reflect or repeat back what she is saying and what she may be feeling to make sure you understand". https://www.cdc.gov/parents/essentials/communication/activelistening.html

Through this concept we can see how Horatio Caine applies it to children, which makes it an expert and specialist to interact with children.

HORATIO IN LOVE

His great impossible love is Yelina Salas (Sofia Milos), the beautiful wife of his brother Raymond, has always been deeply in love, but he is so honest and loyal that even though his brother is dead he does not dare to have an affair with her, out of respect for his brother's memory.

Subsequently, Horatio was briefly married to Marisol Delko (Alana de la Garza), curiously, of remarkable resemblance to Yelina, Horatio's impossible love. Marisol was killed in a Mala Noche at the end of season 4. Horatio promises to find the culprits and make them pay.

In short, this personage is great for what he transmits and makes you admire him because it is what you always expect from a person who represents the Law, who loves what he does, who has principles and values, who is loyal, honest, unbreakable, who is there to protect you and that when you call him or need him he is unconditionally. Particularly, I compare it to Superman, he's a superhero and when I see him with his team at the Police Crime Lab, I imagine Superman in the Hall of Justice, all united fighting crime.

For all those who haven't seen it, I invite you to see it so that you can appreciate how interesting the series is. His other characters are also very good, they complement the work that Horatio Caine directs.
