I'm probably not the only one who needs a glossary these days to understand government pronouncements about the categorization of people and the kinds of actions the government plans to take to help the right kinds of people.
I have my own ideas about what the following terms mean, but I have no confidence that what I think they mean - or even how a dictionary defines them - is what they are supposed to convey in a Biden White House document.
Although I can guess at their meaning, I might easily guess wrong.
This particular set of undefined terms I lifted from a new White House pronouncement entitled "Fact Sheet: National Strategy on Gender Equity and Equality":
- "Gender equity and equality"
- "gender-based violence"
- "an intersectional approach"
- "economic security"
- "good jobs"
- "persistent gender discrimination and systemic barriers to full workforce participation"
- "care infrastructure and care workers"
- "the barriers to equal opportunity in education"
- "health inequity"
- "gender parity and diversity"
- "the care economy and the care workforce"
- "the maternal mortality crisis"

There are many things wrong with the content of this White House "fact sheet" beyond its terminology. I dare you to read the whole thing! And if you really want to understand what's behind the fact sheet, and you're a glutton for punishment, try wading through the entire 42-page report!
