After hours of binge-watching The Big Theory, I want to be a physicist, or something close. Yes, all that science and humour got to me, I can't help it. Never knew being a physicist/comic lover was this interesting.
Ever since I started watching the school my interest in science and comic characters has grown exponentially. I listen and watch clips on the aforementioned more frequently now.
Anyway, I missed my shot at becoming a scientist after I decided to study insurance. Plus, I hated physics--or at least the way it was taught in high school (or maybe I just played high school). Whatever the case may be too late to start pondering over string theory or gunning for a Nobel Prize like Sheldon Cooper, the star of the show.
Speaking of Sheldon Cooper, I heard the actor behind the character, Jim Parsons, turned down an offer to continue the sitcom (I will never forgive him and he is in my enemy's list), which would have made him the highest person on television. I guess money isn't everything (well considering he was earning a million dollars per episode at some point).
Watching The Big Theory has been the highlight of my day for the past 2months now. I can't believe I saw it through to the end (I never see things to the end, even my favourite series, One Tree Hill). I guess Sheldon's quirks and humour got me through the 12 seasons, coupled with the wonderful relationship he had with his friends.
The Big Theory is a story of science, love and friendship. It captures the lives of four nerdy friends: Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter, Howard Wolowitz, and Raj Koothrappali, and their journey from being socially awkward young men into fine gentlemen with more to show than their high IQ.
I did have a lot to laugh about watching this show while enjoying the dialogues which were also insightful. I learnt a lot of interesting science facts and theories by watching the show, which is a plus for me.
If anything, the sarcasm in this show is top-notch (and we have Sheldon Cooper to thank that). Kudos to Jim Parsons (I like him enough to remember his name--I don't comment actor's names to memory except I get to watch them countless times in different movies which is not the case here)
While Sheldon Cooper, my second favourite character from the sitcom is Raj Koothrappali (played by Kunal Nayyar). He is the closest character to my personality and he has such an interesting face that makes me laugh. Just the thought of it alone is cracking me up.
Third on my list will be the character Bernadette Rostenkowski played by Melissa Rauch. What's not to love about this petite blondie with her high-pitched voice and multiple personas. I find the character quite interesting and her relationship with Howard is probably the most awkward on the show (yes, they beat Sheldon and Amy to the game).
I genuinely feel sad finishing The Big Bang Theory. It had my perfect mix of sarcasm, romance and science. They made science fun for me again. These days whenever I come across anything about string theory or black holes I want to listen (although my understanding is similar to that of Penny--and I have a science background. Shame on me).
Well, every good thing must come to an end, nevertheless, watching The Big Bang Theory was worth my time and data. Now I stuck with The Witcher. Argh!
