I believe everyone has the right to speak freely as long as it does not instigate hate and misinformation. There are always exceptions/limits on people's freedom. You won't grant the same liberties you offer a law-abiding citizen to a terrorist or a criminal simply because they contravene the mutual agreement--laws that protect the interest of the society at large. I am sure you won't be comfortable with an extremist hosting a breakfast show talking about how they maim people for whatever reason and advising people to do the same; or would you be comfortable if someone used their platform to spread lies against you. A progressive society is one built on truth and proper information. Progressive development has also occurred in civilisations that were seemingly authoritarian in nature. So it's not necessarily a primary prerequisite for progressive growth.

I don't agree on this totally. Yeah, the blockchain is immutable and has a high resistance to censorship, there have been cases in the last were people censored, certain contents are hidden, certain voices shunned. The one difference between a centralised platform and a decentralisation platform like hive is that the information remains on the chain. It can be suppressed but not removed (well, that's possible with a hardfork. I think.)
