POB-WOTW: SHOWCASE POST (PART 1).

2021 is about to come to an end!

We've had so many beautiful moments here in the WOTW/Proof of Brain community over the past year, how about some festive nostalgia?

Until the start of the WOTW 2022 we're going to take a trip down memory lane. Let's relive some of our best moments and unearth our favourite POB WOTW gems for others to experience.

At the end of each post, each previous winner will be asked to provide one word for WOTW 2022.

Without further ado, let’s get this show started…

WEEK 1

The POB-WOTW challenge kick-started with the word ‘authenticity'. We had our first winner, @allcapsonezero, whose entry, AUTHENTI-ICITY, won him the first prize. Reading through his post filled me with nostalgia. It reminded me of the first time where a lot of people were genuinely excited about the future of the POB community.

WEEK 2

Now, I must give it to @calumam, he has a way of coming up with random words that will stretch your imagination. I noticed a lot of people struggled to come up with something related to the theme. Eventually, we had a winner, @pialejoana, who shared her sweet recipe in a post she titled Sweet Atmosphere.

WEEK 3

By the third week, POB-WOTW was gaining more traction (and so was the POB community). We crossed the 20 entries threshold and it was clear that a lot of people were beginning to warm up to POB and WOTW. For this week, @antonym took home the prize with his post: 5 reasons why i will keep writing longer than YOU!. In this post he tells us what writing means to him.

WEEK 4

In the fourth week of the POB-WOTW, we had the ‘paradox’ theme. @mineopoly won the first position with his post, Where’s Johnny’s Money - A Paradox Story. The post explores some of @mineopoly's money beliefs and the mysterious tales of Johnny's money.

WEEK 5

Around this point, there was a lot of tension in the POB community and this prompt gave people in the community an opportunity to share their fears and theories of fear. My friend and fellow grader, @scholaris reached the top spot with his post: THE POWER OF FEAR.

WEEK 6

In the sixth week, we had the bizarre theme where participants shared their seemingly strange experiences. @bluemoon's post, I would even say bizarre gives a look into some of the bizarre experiences he has had in life. It is a lengthy and strange post indeed.

WEEK 7

By the seventh week, the POB-WOTW grading was taking shape, becoming our yardstick for evaluating quality entries. For the equanimity prompt, @coporateay took the top spot with his post, which details how he lost his father at an early age and how he navigated the world afterward.

WEEK 8

Well, fortunately for me, this was the week I bagged the first prize with my post, EGO OF KNOWLEDGE. In this post, I talk about how I developed self-esteem, as I recount my childhood experiences.

WEEK 9

In the 9th week, we had the outrageous theme. @memeisfun took the first position with his post. In this post, he talks about what happiness means to him while sharing some of the outrageous things he has done.

As a former participant, now curator/grader, I feel a huge sense of pride considering all that this project has been able to achieve. It has gone through the fire and stood the test of time.

To everyone who has been part of this project I say, ‘thank you.”

In the coming weeks, we will be looking at other winners and giving them a chance to pick words for the WOTW 2022.

This will make a lot more sense in the coming weeks. 2022 will be an exciting year for the POB-WOTW challenge. There is so much in the works and we cannot wait to share it with the community. Once again, I want to congratulate the winners of the WOTW contest.
