I have been in the crypto sphere for about 2years. Within this time frame, I have learnt a few things about this industry and the least thing that excited me about this sphere is PRICE.
It is nice to think that you can wake up one day a millionaire. I remember a couple of months ago when hive was about a $1, the euphoria of seeing my account being worth ten times its value, form nothing. I never earned it. It was a free airdrop. It seemed all too surreal for me. A lot of people cashed out during that period, some didn't. Personally, it doesn't matter that much to me because I am still here, creating content, creating value and getting rewarded for it, which is the most exciting thing about this ecosystem for me.

THE REAL VALUE IS THE COMMUNITY**
When compared with our sister chain in terms of price, we are not that different. Most people would say they very much the same because they are fixated on the price and that's how projects are being evaluated in this sphere. However, when you look deeper you would see the one chain is miles ahead of the other but for an outsider who wants to speculate based on the price valuation of both chains, might think otherwise.
There is a lot of dumb money in crypto. Most tokens are very volatile and controlled by a few individuals. Many of us have capitalised on this but it might not stay this way forever. What will matter in the long run and eventually affect price directly is growth and development.
Fake it till you make it.
This has been the path most crypto projects have taken. Fake activities, fake communities, hype, scandal, etc. At some point, all these things won't matter as much. Even if this continues for a prolonged period, I am guessing those who are smart enough will leverage on that. Patience in this industry can be a virtue and your pitfall in this industry. I can't categorically tell what the crypto industry will be like in a couple of years. I like to be very positive as a crypto enthusiast but don't have a clue.
When I first joined this industry I just wanted to make a few bucks. At some point, it seemed like I was going to be a million overnight with the dream that was been sold to me--i know people who have made millions here but it hasn't changed a lot in their life or perspective. It's just about hopping on one goose chase to another. So i do not have it at the back of my mind that this will make me super-rich or solve all my life problems. I am not overly concerned about being super-rich, so it is even hard to sell me a lie or have me fixated on something surreal. I have realistic expectations and goals for myself and the future. As it stands crypto has given me enough already and for me it's about growing my capacity and leverage on this existing platform and also allow people to have a similar experience like have here. I can't do that if i am stuck in my bubble.
What makes this place exciting is the uniqueness of our expectations. Some see their holding as something they can fall back on when they retire; some see this as an opportunity to become very rich; some just want to change the world. These expectations inform our decisions regarding our investment(time, relationships and money). I am glad i discovered hive because it has given me the luxury experiment and figure things out. I am on a new career path at 25 thanks to hive. That won't be possible if i was stuck in a job i hated because i need to pay bills.
Whatever happens in the present or future, i don't think i will have any regrets. I am happy with my experience so far. There is still a lot that can be done. Cheers!
