Big business understands the importance of public image. That's why they don't promote the shady elements of their practice but as soon as they're spending money on saving the environment or donating to a charity, you can expect to hear it. They wouldn't waste time downvoting each other. They would spend time playing a little game of one-upmanship.

to just expect everyone to be nice and hippie about it

People aren't being hippies when they spend billions on entertainment, annually. That money they spend is rewarding content producers. I'd like to see some of that money come this way.

Big names won't come until the small names deliver proof of concept. Think about Youtube and its history, then you'll see what I mean.

Gotta learn from the giants, study their moves; then take them down.
