Thanks for the detailed reply, and the reminder to calm the fuck down. I need that some days. I have a couple of follow-ups I'd like your input on.

Although it is, and was, being sold as a blogging platform it is by and large internal communication in my opinion.

I want to believe this, and I think with communities this will become easier, but as it is now so much of the interaction happens on other chat channels such as Discord. Everyone and their dog has a discord channel. Discord is one of those platforms that I avoid like an anti-vaxxer community.

This means I'm left out in those discussions. Someday soon I will write about my amateur theories on Discord and TikTok.

If you can't write about it, or think of ways to change it for the better and feel excited to be part of the community that is bringing the world a refined blockchain governance of Delegated Proof of Stake then maybe you should cash in your chips.

Back when I first joined steemit (before steempeak@steempeak or busy@busy or the other dAPPS were a thing) I was excited to have an alternative to the "normal" blogging and social platforms where you can be rewarded directly for developing good to great content, rather than the internet points of Reddit or the advertising models of AdWords.

I left for a while because the type of content that was being promoted/developed was all either hate speech being spun as free speech, or about how Steem was going to change the world.

I came back when I came across some interesting accounts that weren't focused on blockchains, crypto, etc. While I do think blockchain is the future for many technologies, its not something that I want to talk about every day all day.

However, as some of my latest posts have tried to communicate, in a cranky way I admit, is that the bot voting wars aren't over, it has turned into cartels where people will do the auto-downvote when actors aren't doing things that they like. The hate on themarkymark@themarkymark is a worse example than the hate on SBI. At least I can understand the argument against SBI, even if I don't agree with it.

So What now?

Well for me, I think I will power down to around 5000SP, enough that I can still have decent upvotes to support the users that I like. I will stay active on the commenting and curation front, but likely won't be posting a lot, unless I take a photo I like that I think others would appreciate.

I will take a deep breath and carry on :D
