Hi SPL community! It's been a while since I joined the SPL weekly fanart challenge. For this week, I decided to draw Captain Fellblade
She is an Epic Water element card from the Rebellion edition with both Magic and Melee attacks. What’s great about this unit is its sneak attack, allowing it to deal damage to enemies even when not on the front line.
First, I did a rough sketch to visualize the art I had in mind.
In my draft sketch, I included details like clothing, embellishments, and more.
After the rough sketch, I created an outline to use as a guide for my fan art. I refined the details of the hair, eyes, outfit, and other elements.
Once I finished the outline, I added the base colors to my artwork.
After coloring, I added shading and highlights, but I didn’t blend and smooth them immediately.
After blurring and blending, I retouched some parts where the colors had faded too much.
For the background, I applied a gradient and then used a cloud brush on top.
On top of the cloud layer, I created bubble drawings for added effect.
