I want to share a dream I had last night.

First off, I should say that I find that dream analysis stuff to be perhaps slightly more credible than astrology; do it for fun if you'd like, but it's not worth your time to take it seriously. So I'm not necessarily looking for any deeper meaning in this. But I will say that the last couple days have been rather high-stress for me in a dear-God-will-everyone-please-leave-me-alone sort of way, so make of that what you will.

Anyway, I'm in a field, and there are several rabbits that I see. I bend down and manage to lure a rabbit near my hand, then I pick it up. The rabbit wiggles and gyrates in my hands, kicking its strong hind legs.

Well, great, why am I bothering this rabbit? But before I can put it down, I notice some scurrying in a crevice in the ground nearby. I look closer, and I see maybe half a dozen red foxes there. There was a fox den right on the edge of the field where all these rabbits lived! I can't set this rabbit down here, or… well, have you ever picked up a cat in Postal 2 and then dropped it near a dog? (I'm trying to find a clip on YouTube to share, yet surprisingly failing.)

So I'm carrying this kicking, wiggling rabbit, trying to find a safe place to let it down that's not near the fox den, at the same time thinking that the farther I go, the farther this rabbit is going to be from its family and its sources of food, like… dandelion flowers or whatever rabbits eat, and I hope this bunny will be able to survive wherever I end up setting it down. Finally I set it down and it scampers away, and thus ends my dream.

So am I someone who tries to protect the preyed upon, even though I might just be messing things up in another direction in the process? Or am I the rabbit itself, hoping someone can take me away from all the stress and uncertainty in my life and towards a new future, no matter how uncertain it may be? I can kind of see it both ways, though like I said, I'm not going to analyze this too much.

Or maybe the story about jrhughes@jrhughes' cat abducting a rabbit got tangled up in my brain with a wandering memory of the zillions of video games I've wasted my short life on playing.

Image sources: Fox, rabbit. Composition by me. Note that I might not have much internet/Steemit capability in upcoming days. Please allow me to pretend that some of you will notice I'm gone and wonder what happened to me.
