Hi everyone! It's my first time posting here on Sketchbook, I would like to introduce myself by saying that a while ago, instead of being "Noctav" I used to have another nickname which was Xore (it still is but for online games haha), so i wanted to say this because i didn't want to cause confusion by the signature on the drawing, this drawing that you see is an Oc that I did some time ago, his name is "Brandon Walter" he is a backpacker (I like that when I do an Oc, I create a little story), when I was looking at my IbisPaint X folder, I noticed that there was the process in which I made the drawing and I started to watch it, It helped me a lot to remember how to color there because over time without drawing, you know, if you don't practice, you tend to forget, then I thought about sharing the process that I did in that drawing! (by the way, I took screenshots of the process because I can't upload videos)

Normally what I do is make a pencil drawing, I take a photo of it and open the image in Ibis to start making the LineArt.

I start to put base colors.

Comienzo a poner los colores base.

img_0.9659608433693757.jpg

When I start to add the shadows, in the case of the blonde, I use red, it is not noticeable because I lowered the opacity to 50%, I have the layer in Multiply.

The next step is to change the layer to overlay, to make the hair shine and in another layer that is "add" for softer highlights.

From here, the base colors of the skin are added (the base color code I used for the skin is #E9CAA3, since shadows appear in the capture I preferred to say the code) and the base color of the eyes.

For the skin shadow what I did was lower the base color a little more on the chromatic wheel, in a normal layer but with 48% opacity so it could blend well.

As you can see, where the beard is, there is a difference in color, the body itself has several colors, it can be said that where the beard is, there is a blue but very light tone by the layer that is in Multiply but with opacity of the 43%

In the eyes part, I added more blue for the brightness but I put it in the "screen" the layer, to give it that intense shine and an outstanding seawater color, returning to the skin, I already mentioned that there are several colors in the skin, for the chin and where are baggy eyes it is usually blue, above the forehead it is like yellow (ocher) and the neck too, in the middle of the face for the nose, ears and cheeks, it is red, after knowing all this, when you looked at the drawing again, you will see that I placed each of those tones in low opacity so that they do not look unnatural.

The last details of the eyes are simple, in a layer with the "screen" mode, I placed orange and being in that mode creates that mixing effect that produces the yellow that can be observed in between the seawater shine and the orange, in a last layer with the mode of "add" I placed the white gleam of the eyes that is characteristic.

Already finishing with the character, in the vest I placed the orange base color and then I used the layer in Multiply to make the shadows and the lights I just used a lighter orange, then with the accessories, I only used base colors, I did not do detail, with the earrings I only mixed white, black and gray to look like I made them out of metal and the closure of the vest is a brush with that shape, I don't remember if it already came with the application, IbisPaint X brings a huge amount of special brushes and it is something that I love in particular.

In the end for the background, what I did was use a brush with feathers, put them in different sizes, a layer with little opacity so that they seem far away, others with full opacity to make them look close and I put the layer on "Sub exposure of color ", and the base color of the background is gray.

The feather brush is something that I got myself with artists who usually share the brushes they create, they can import their brushes and scan them, it is a very good function of the app.
