I returned to Cayo Sombrero was an unexpected visit and that was not within the tour, a group of people who were on our tour that had as tour only Playa Sur and Bajo 360°, had spoken with a boatman to take them for a ride to Cayo Sombrero as one of her friends was going to emigrate to another country and did not want to leave without visiting the most captivating and beautiful key of all.
So after lunch we started a new trip that had a cost of $ 5 per person from Playa Sur to Cayo Sombrero and in about 15 minutes by boat we arrived at this beautiful place, although I confess it was 2:00 pm and it was crowded with people on its main shore that is near the pier of the landing of the boats to enter.
We could only swim on the beach for 40 minutes because that was the time the boat driver would be waiting for us to take us to Bajo Los Juanes, so stepping on the sand I immediately took as many pictures as I could in that short time without forgetting that I had to enjoy the beach for a while.
Cayo Sombrero has two areas for swimmers one is full of people and is the ideal place to swim because it has no stones on its shore to go to the next area you have to cross the key through the center between giant palm trees to reach the paradise full of crystal clear water that is quite captivating and although it has enough stones on its shore is too beautiful view, the gentle wind, hear the waves, walk along the sand and see how others also enjoy the beach is simply spectacular and priceless.

Regresé a Cayo Sombrero fue una visita inesperada y que no estaba dentro del tour, un grupo de personas que estaban en nuestro tour que tenía como recorrido solo Playa Sur y Bajo 360°, habían hablado con un lanchero para que les llevará a dar un paseo a Cayo Sombrero ya que una de sus amigas iba a a emigrar a otro país y no quería irse sin visitar al cayo más cautivador y hermoso de todos.
Así que después del almuerzo emprendimos un nuevo viaje que tuvo un costo de 5$ por persona desde Playa Sur hasta Cayo Sombrero y en unos 15 minutos en lancha llegamos a este precioso lugar, aunque confieso eran las 2:00pm y estaba abarrotada de gente su orilla principal que esta cerca del muelle del desembarcadero de las lanchas para ingresar.
Solo podíamos bañarnos en la playa durante 40 minutos porque ese era el tiempo que nos esperaría el conductor de la lancha para después llevarnos a Bajo Los Juanes, así que pisando la arena inmediatamente tomé todas las fotografías que pude en ese corto tiempo sin olvidar que tenía que disfrutar un rato de la playa.
Cayo Sombrero posee dos áreas para los bañistas una esta repleta de personas y es el lugar ideal para bañarse porque no tiene piedras en su orilla para ir a la siguiente área hay que atravesar el cayo por el centro entre gigantescas palmeras para llegar al paraíso lleno de agua cristalina que es bastante cautivadora y aunque tiene bastante piedras en su orilla es demasiado hermosa la vista, el viento suave, escuchar el oleaje, caminar por la arena y ver como otros también disfrutan de la playa es sencillamente espectacular y no tiene precio.
Otros datos de Cayo Sombrero es que posee el agua más salada de todos los cayos que están dentro del Parque Nacional Morrocoy porque se encuentra en el mar abierto, los toldos también tienen un costo de 20$, puedes encontrar venta de inflables, sombreros y ventas de distintos platillos para degustar mientras se está disfrutando de éste pequeño paraíso, también cuentan con un puesto de Inparques quienes ayudan a mantener así de hermoso el Cayo y si necesitan información de cualquier tipo ellos amablemente los guiarán.
Y aunque solo fueron pocos minutos después de tomar las fotografías solo disfrute de un chapuzon en la orilla principal que aunque habían muchos yates pernotando no me impidió vivir el momento, porque sencillamente el mejor plan es el que llega de manera inesperada.
Hace un año estuve aquí y que bueno saber que sigue estando igual de bonito y con una belleza natural impresionante, espero les guste este corto recorrido por Cayo Sombrero y disfruten conmigo de ésta corta pero bien vivida aventura.
