Hello everyone, I want to share my travel story to Yogyakarta, some time ago. I visited Vredeburg Fort. I have wanted to visit this place for a long time, this is the first time I have visited it. Let's start my journey to visit this Fort.

This fort is close to the Malioboro area and is striking because it is one of the Dutch heritage buildings. In fact, according to local residents, this fort has witnessed a number of events in Yogyakarta since the Dutch entered.

From the information I got, this fort is inseparable from the history of the Yogyakarta Sultanate. At that time, the Yogyakarta Palace built a lot of Islamic boarding school infrastructure. Starting from Pasar Gedhe, Mosques to the town square. This worried the Dutch, so a fort was built near the palace.

Oh yes, I told you about the construction of the Yogyakarta Sultanate. Yogyakarta was built on October 9, 1755. At the time of the fort's construction, the government argued to maintain its security. The Dutch wanted to control what the Yogyakarta Palace did.

What about the location of the fort and the Yogyakarta Palace? The distance is very close. This fort was used as a place to intimidate and attack the Yogyakarta palace. Another thing that happened about this fort, initially this fort was named "Rustenburgh" which means a place of rest.

However, there was a development into Vredeburg Fort which means peace. That's all I can tell about the history of this building. I want to tell you about my experience when visiting this place. This place is transformed into a museum and education for residents.

When I visited, several students were visiting. You don't just have to visit for half a day. You have to spend a full day to learn the history there. If you are thirsty and hungry, you don't need to worry, there is a canteen and several sellers.

The area of this place reaches 46,574 square meters. Very large and abundant. Schoolchildren can learn while playing. The questionable thing about this place is the summer. That's my only experience, see you.
