Last week, I met two people. I haven't seen them in three years. They are my best friends in Bandung. They are Eva and Sisca. We chose Yan Coffee Shop as our meeting place. We thought this place could be open until 12am. Turns out we were right, this place is open until 1 am. The place was very full when we entered. There is live music and cigarettes.
As I entered, I felt that some people were having a reunion. They wear white clothes. They also sing old songs. But, I'm not comfortable with cigarette smoke. On the first floor, room for smokers. Almost all the tables are smoking. On the second floor there is a special AC room. There were only three tables on the third floor. This room is limited. We chose the second floor, non-smoking.
I want to tell you about this place, Yan Coffeeshop. This place has only been open for three years. This place offers a nice and homely feel. Live music is one way to make visitors feel at home, singing and talking with friends is a fun thing. Another slogan about this place, cheap.
This coffee shop is located on Jalan Sabang, Central Jakarta, Indonesia. Wrong place with coffee shop. Live music is one of the attractions of this place, from the information I got, this place should consist of four floors. Maybe because of the pandemic, only two floors were opened. Can accommodate 150 visitors. But, by the time I arrived, 50 people were already too full.
What kind of coffee is sold from this place? I ordered a coffee pull (kopi tarik). my friend ordered lemongrass wedang (Wedang Sereh). I want to tell you about the coffee I ordered. I was very interested in the coffee I ordered. My coffee is unique. I just found this coffee. Coffee pull? How does it feel? It tastes good and doesn't make me nauseous.
From the information I have read, this Pull Coffee is one of the typical coffees of Aceh, Indonesia. This coffee is deliberately pulled or poured from one glass to another to produce foam. Usually, to produce foam in coffee, we need to shake the coffee. This pull coffee from one glass to another. How to make this coffee is like making teh Tarik (a drink from Malaysia) on a normal day.
The foam produced by this coffee is quite good. Just like Teh Tarik, this coffee is delicious to drink. But, this coffee can also be ordered hot, the most important thing in this coffee is the foam of this coffee, the more foam produced from this coffee, the better. The process of pulling this coffee has a big effect on the taste of this coffee. In Aceh, drinking coffee has become a culture.
In Aceh, this coffee has become a very popular coffee. Almost in every coffee shop, this pull is for sale. Unlike in Jakarta, maybe only 2-3 coffee shops that sell coffee. I just found one coffeeshop only. From the information I got, the longer this coffee is withdrawn, the more delicious this coffee will be. The water used to make coffee must be boiling (very hot) water. Next, the coffee is put into a filter made of gauze.
Boiling water is poured into a filter, then one with coffee grounds. Then, the coffee maker is poured into the container up to several times. Until the coffee forms foam. This is an interesting attraction, like a tea pull. But, I don't see this attraction, the longer the coffee maker's hand cooks this coffee, the higher the coffee is poured. From youtube I see. the coffee is poured like a waterfall. This attraction is carried out until the heat of the coffee is reduced.

Before I ordered this coffee, I asked this coffee shop, will the pull of the coffee make my stomach queasy?
The waiter replied, Kopi Tarik would not make the stomach queasy. Because this coffee has been formulated first. So, it does not cause bloating and nausea.
