This building was founded in 1652. However, there have been some changes in this place, the last building was renovated in 1759. There are four buildings in this museum, during the Dutch occupation, placed as a spice warehouse. In fact, there are other valuable minerals in this place, namely copper and tin. In addition to the warehouse, this place was also built to see the ships that would land in this place.

After Indonesia's independence, this place functioned as a logistics warehouse for the State Electricity Company as well as telephone and telegram posts. Because this place is very close to the port, this place is damaged due to seawater flooding. in the story I got, this place had a fire. Some of the museum's collections were burned.

Before the pandemic, this place was always visited by foreign tourists. But, after the pandemic, the total number of visitors is very small. But, you don't need to worry, the requirements to visit this place are not too difficult. You have just shown proof of the Covid vaccine. You can visit this place from 09.00 am to 03.00 pm. For the entrance ticket, in my opinion it is very cheap. If you are a student, you only pay IDR 2,000 - 3,000. If you are an adult male or female, you only pay IDR 5,000.

1. Cannon during the Dutch colonial period

Not many people know that this place kept cannons during the Dutch colonial period. Many people know that this place only stores marine collections from various regions in Indonesia, however, in this place there are several cannons that are guarded. the cannon must not be touched by visitors. The cannon is a kind of large, tubular artillery object.

For cannons stored in this place, including the oldest collection in this place. The cannons are stored in this place with carvings that indicate the Dutch government at that time. There are interesting carvings on the cannon on display. In total, there are six cannons that are treated in this museum.

2.Barito Jukung Ship

There are many boats or boats in this place. One that I find interesting is the Barito Boat. This ship comes from South Kalimantan. The ship's construction is unique. This ship is made of tree trunks which are then given a hole in the middle. Then it is heated for seven days and seven nights without being exposed to fire. This ship is used for pawns in the floating market, South Borneo.

The collection of spices in this museum is a gift and preserved for up to 10 years. It's very good here, I am very comfortable here. In addition, spices are a marker if the Dutch come to Indonesia to warm the body. For the people of Indonesia, spices are used for cooking spices

4.Phinisi Boat Frame

This place is the skeleton of the Phinisi ship. This boat looks cute and the front of the boat is very sharp. This causes the ship's speed is quite fast. And this boat is not easy to sink because it follows the coconut shell. Unlike the boats in Europe. The materials used to make this boat are unique. This boat is made by connecting it with wooden pegs.
