This is an important question to ask, if we truly need religion to gain Salvation from God. The bible made is to understand that salvation is is based on the relationship you have with God. Some people takes religion so serious but their heart is far from God. True salvation begins with faith and trust in Him, not merely with rituals or traditions.
In the new testament many people was saved by believing in Jesus Christ
In Acts 16:31, Paul and Silas told the jailer, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”
We should know that the bible doesn't need us to be religious for us to be saved. We only need to trust in God and have faith in him with a pure heart. True religion flows out of that salvation, but it cannot replace it. Salvation is a gift of grace, received through faith, and lived out in obedience and love.
