Many Christians ask the same question about being baptized twice. Baptism simply means accepting Jesus Christ in faith without being forced to accept him. Baptism talks about complete repentance and ready to follow Jesus Christ with all your mind. In some cases, such as the disciples who had only received John’s baptism, they were baptized again after fully understanding and believing in Christ. This suggests that if the first baptism was done without true faith or full understanding, being baptized again can be biblical. However, baptism is not meant to be repeated simply because someone sinned or feels spiritually weak; it represents a once-for-all commitment to Christ.
We should have in mind that they is only one God which everyone must worship. Baptism is something that is done once in a lifetime, we shouldn't repeat it constantly. If a person was baptized as an infant without personal faith, some Christian traditions believe a second baptism upon personal confession is appropriate, while others see infant baptism as valid and do not support rebaptism. Biblically, the key issue is not the number of times, but whether the baptism reflects genuine repentance and faith in Jesus.
