He always sneaks out at night
When the moon shines so bright
When the cold pierces my heart
When i yearn for his warm embrace
I turned to find my lover gone
Who knows what he sneaks out to do
What he meets in the darkened night
It raises suspicions in me
Perhaps he keeps another one warm
And leave me to freeze in the cold
No! He will never do that
Not that i trust him anyway
As i'd caught him before
In a woman's bed
Doing things that only lover's do
But "never again" he swore
As he fought his way into my heart
I had no reason to doubt him again

So i followed him one night
Into the woods he went
Kept quietly out of sight
And watched as he entered a clearing
He stood under a tree
And slowly he changed
His nails turned to claws
His legs turned to limbs
He was covered with furs
His had a face of an animal- a wolf
My lover is gone!
My lover is the wolf
While i hid myself in dread
He howled into the night

Then suddenly i ran
As fast as my legs could go
Locked the door behind me
My lover is the wolf!
The man who shared my bed
I have heard the tales
Should i give him up
No! I certainly not
I will keep his secret
I will protect him
That is what Love does
My heart beats for him still
Even if he is a monster
For we all have a dark side.
