Yo it's been a while since I last posted. A combination of being overworked, stressed and just not having the motivation. Sometimes you don't realize something is weighing you down until you let it go and you feel how light your shoulders are when you release those burdens.
Anyway I am back and what inspired me was a tragic event that happened today in Spanish Town Jamaica. Two police officers were killed in the line of duty. Gunmen pounced on 4 police officers killing 2 and injuring the others.
It seems there is a turf war going on rumours say and the police got caught in the middle. Looks like the alleged cop killer is Hamilton Damion Omar Coleman an deportee who is alleged to be ex-marine. I didn't come here to just tell you bad news. I came here to make you listen to an artiste I have known for years from Spanish Town. An unsung hero in my opinion always making musical poetry about the human condition in the Jamaican context. You don't find many artistes doing this these days especially in this way.
Let me introduce you Amaziyah the Great who did an interesting Musical New Poetry piece reporting on the tragic incident. He is very talented. I met him at the Reggae International Film Festival and literally after that one meeting me and this guy vibed like brothers. I asked him to accompany me one day to the Lignum Vitae Film Festival and asked him to enter the festival. It was unexpected that we would both ending winning several awards. Truly talented individual.
