So I found a new movie to watch on Netflix. People always say there is nothing to watch on this platform but I find that if you diversify what you watch you will find plenty. Start by watching shows from countries you don't typically go to for movies.
I found this coming of age gem called "Friday Night Plan". It's about about a boy who tends to stick by himself, doesn't have much of a life outside of school and home and thinks he is pretty much a nobody. However his brother idolizes him. The film takes us on a journey after Sid the main character becomes popular in school over night and is invited to a party to commemorate the last day of school. We see how this journey transforms his outlook on life.
I won't spoil it for you. I advise you go watch it yourself. I gave it a 7.5/10 which for me is a good score. I would have given it 8 but the premise is a tad cliché but happily, they do bring some fresh approaches to the table. This is not a family movie as it does contain a curse word that rhymes with spit, but that's about the only thing in it that kids can't see. If you watch it let me know what you think.
