Recently an information emerged as if it were a secret that has just been revealed: Amazon, the most important e-commerce technology company in the world is looking for employees with knowledge in cryptocurrencies, specifically in blockchain, an offer that suggests the possible incursion of this company in the world of decentralized money.

Beyond supposing that Amazon's incursion into the crypto world seems imminent, it is no small thing to think about what this would mean for fiat currencies such as Bitcoin and altcoins that make up this alternative economy. Being Amazon a company whose reach is global, it is a situation worth analyzing the fact that in a hypothetical case this transnational company would force its users to make purchases with their own token.

Surely an Amazon crypto (let's say Amazoncoin) would significantly reduce the power of the dollar and disrupt the digitization plans of the American currency. On the other hand, the incursion of this company in the cryptosphere would be accompanied by a plan to offer products from the Centralized Finance (CeFi) systems, so perhaps Amazon will become the largest digital cryptofinancial entity in the world, at least from the institutional point of view.

Of course, the aforementioned is reduced to the level of the scenario with the greatest possibility of becoming real, since we all know what the leaders of this global mega-consortium are capable of doing. On the other hand, Amazon's own cryptocurrency or token will not be limited (I am still speculating), as its main interest will be that it has a universal reach, is easy to acquire and scalable, something that would of course reduce traditional currencies and financial institutions to a secondary plane in front of this retail monster.

Such a digital currency is unlikely to surpass the all-powerful Bitcoin in interest, as the latter is still considered more of a valuable asset than a currency, on par with gold or any commodity. Perhaps Amazon will also consider going after the Bitcoins of its customers through its offer in the world of e-commerce and digital finance, something that of course all large corporations, technological or not, are considering, to pass up the possibility of accumulating the most coveted cryptocurrency of all is not something that this elite has in mind.

For now Amazon neither confirms nor denies anything, its offer is still proposed in fiat terms, something that will probably be modified in the medium and long term with the inclusion of the crypto-world in the context of this company, which at the moment does not show its intention to participate. We will see.
