I was very naughty this year,
so, I don’t expect to see you here.

Even though I know you won't show.

Desperate Nut
From the ship’s deck we could all see over there,
a man desperately waving his hands up in the air.
He was on a small island and had a long beard.
He was jumping around and acting all weird.
So I asked the captain, "What was going on here"?
The guy’s nuts, he said, he does that every year.

UFO in Town
A lot of people in Washington
saw a UFO today.
I think that it’s true I believe
what they say.
I wanted the aliens to know
before they set down
If they’re looking for intelligence
they’re in the wrong town.

Turkey Shoot
I went hunting yesterday and
I shot my first turkey.
The folks in frozen foods
all seemed scared of me.
Maybe it was just because
I was carrying that big gun.
Damn, I think this getting old
is going to be some fun.

Ponder this for a while,
If you think giving is out of style.
It is if you give to benefit yourself,
and not for the good of someone else.
If you give from the heart with compassion
others will know it’s still in fashion.
You don’t have to be wealthy to give,
only a giving heart, a passion to live.
My admiration is all for my son.
He had only two but gave up one.
A kidney he gave, the supreme form of giving.
A gift to his sister to go on living.
They are both doing fine.
Thank God and my son.

Ben Wilkins rode the outlaw trail out in the wooly west.
Of all the 2-gun men alive twas known he was the best.
Until one night he made a bet while drinking at the bar
that he would gun the sheriff known as Lightning Jim McGraw.
But Jim it seems did not agree as he walked in the door.
Three guns were drawn with lightning speed but only one could roar.
The bullet that the sheriff fired ripped through the outlaw's chest.
The sheriff known as Jim McGraw had again outdrawn the best.

Howdy y’all. It’s me, ninong7 aka UJ aka John. Just a short intro about myself. I am a Texan that has retired in the Philippines. I moved to the Philippines with my wife back in May 2010. I am retired from the US Air Force. The music I like is mostly Classic Country and Classic Rock. I guess you could say that I am “Classic”. I play dominoes when I can find someone that will play, I play chess, cribbage, spades, hearts, Empire Builder, Rail Baron, Acquire and a few other games. I like to write poems and stories (although pretty novice) and I love learning about history, just about any history. I’m at home on my computer a lot but if I could afford to, I’d be traveling and documenting my travels to post in my blog. I hope to get to know a lot of you through PeakD and Discord.
