We promised in our last post (The Heritage Project), that we would share with all of you the projects that we have been doing and are about to do. (Un)fortunately we have been very busy doing and planning new projects. (Wow, it is actually already FOUR months since our last post - Shame on us!)
Anyway, one of the big highlights since those four months is definitely our project in Thailand. After months of preparations, research, mailing back and forth, searching for funds, searching for volunteers, booking and so on, our deal was sealed. Together with one selected volunteer (Luxembourger) we travelled to Thailand to work with one of Thailands many hilltribes, The Karen People.
The Karen people mainly live in the West and North of Thailand. We travelled to two remote villages of the Karen tribe in the hills outside of Chiang Mai, in the north of Thailand to work with the children of the local schools there. Narrow and bumpy dirt roads - an adventure itself, led us all the way up the hills to our destinations. The view was nevertheless stunning.
In the villages we stayed for about one week in each village. During the week we rehearsed and practiced a well known Karen story together with local music, songs and dances. As we wanted to make a marvelous performance to be showed for the whole village the last day, we also prepared local costumes and other props.

Last, but not least we think we should let you know that this was not the only thing that happened during those four months we let you wait for our post. Quite a lot happened and we made some challenging decisions which we will let you know about sooon, we promise!! :)
