It's getting cold already. Soon the river will be covered with ice. It is good that water does not freeze near a small dam. Ducks always gather in this place in winter from all over the river.
Ducks that live on the river do not fly away for the winter to warmer places. They always winter here. Get used to this place. A lot of people pass by the dam in winter and you can often see people bringing food for the ducks.
When it is Sunday, people often come with children, who are very pleased to feed these waterfowl. Ducks quickly get used to people. They go to the coast. They come very close and even take food from their hands.
Children are very happy when they manage to give food to ducks. Children do not offend birds, although sometimes they try to stroke them. Of course, ducks are afraid, but they treat children well.
Unfortunately, there are fewer ducks this year. In the summer I saw not many broods of little ducklings. There were many more last year. And there were fewer other birds this year. Nature this year was not rich in birds and there were fewer of them.
Let's hope things get better next year. Summer will be good. There will be many young birds growing in nature.
